"Modern Times" in Marmolada, in 1984, was my first mountain route. Marco Sterni, also from Trieste, took me with him. He already had experience with other climbs and I knew nothing... I didn't even know where the Marmolada was; but I really wanted to follow him to learn.. see... experience... and dream. We returned together to the Marmolada in 1988 to do the "Via del Pesce" (Fish Route) again. A route which has left its mark in the history of climbing... and in our lives. At the end of the day we got to the top and shook hands: we did it! One of our biggest mountaineering achievements! Then our paths divided. I have trouble remembering how many classic climbs I've done in all these years, and I haven't dedicated my time to opening new routes. But I'll certainly remember the routes I've listed below because of the time and commitment I spent in repeating them. |
