Strelovod, 8c

It was the first time in 21 years of climbing that I'd gone without climbing for more than three months in a row.
At the end of December, I took out my backpack and shoes from the trunk of my car for a period of peace and quiet before going to Patagonia at the beginning of February.
Two months wasted between El Chalten and the Cerro Torre base camp. Never in my life have I ever let myself go to seed like I did in those two months - thanks also to the great Argentine beef and Chilean wine. It was during this time that I realized that I couldn't live without climbing. It's in my blood.
I returned home at the end of March 4 kilos heavier. I don't know whether it was because I needed to come back down to earth after such a gruelling climb from the Torre or simply because I couldn't wait to climb, filled with enthusiasm like in the "old days". I went on a strict diet and got back to daily training. After a month I managed to finish the damn "Strelovod", known also as "lightening rod", and when I did it, I said to myself "That's why it took me 2 years! I just needed ...motivation!"
I had to wait for the right moment and not force myself because, sooner or later you always get what you wish for...
